Region 5 News
The geographic makeup of Region 5 is so vast that its members can only meet once a year. To maximize the ability for directors to support and network with each other, the region has developed a leadership team to coordinate its work. Each province in the region selects a person to serve on the Regional Leadership Team. The representative to the NFCYM Board of Directors also serves on this team.
Each Provincial Representative leads province meetings (held twice a year); welcomes and mentors new diocesan directors, and shares the leadership role for the annual region meeting. The region has made a financial commitment to send the entire Leadership Team to the Annual Membership Meeting. The current leadership team is Gina Berrios, Archdiocese of Mobile, Alabama; Melinda Prunty, Diocese of Owensboro, Kentucky; Cooper Ray, Diocese of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Carole Goodwin, Region 5 Representative to the NFCYM Board of Directors.
This model has proven fruitful for the continued close connection between all diocesan leaders in Region 5.
