Region 12 Deals with Greatness of Northwest

They call it “The Great Northwest,” but its greatness presents challenges.
Consider the vast grandeur of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. Then think about gathering folks from what is by far the largest geographic region, which covers the Mountain, Pacific, and Alaskan time zones! It is easier said than done.
Region 12 met the challenge recently when it met in Seattle. It was a productive meeting, but diocesan directors most enjoyed networking, fellowship, and the Archdiocese of Seattle’s great hospitality. Region 12 continues to wrestle with the most convenient and economical ways to gather given its vast geography. It plans on using conference calls and gathering again in December.
The dioceses of the Northwest also face unexpectedly high airfares to Columbus for NCYC. Due to the distance, flying is the only option, and the fares are hurting the numbers of participants from the Northwest.
Among the new directors welcomed to Region 12 are Deb Wilker (Baker), Doug Tooke (Helena), Elizabeth Torres (Yakima) and Mia Crostwaithe (Boise).
