Please Do Not Read Any Further Unless: you are willing to take some time out of your busy life to actually work on your spirituality; unless you are willing to slow down and focus on your ministry and how it is affecting you and others; or unless you know that you cannot save the entire world by yourself!
Second Wind will take place May 18-22, 2005. The leadership team will gather to inspire you, give you guidance as diocesan leaders, allow you to focus on concerns that you face in your day to day ministry, allow you time away to energize yourself. The theme for the Second Wind next May will be—Sabbath: Peace Be with You. The special guest presenter is the auxiliary bishop of Galveston-Houston,
Most Reverend Joe S. Vasquez.
The National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Illinois, is the gathering site for 2005. It is centrally located in the heart of the U.S.A. The grounds are beautiful in May and you are given time to enjoy the out of doors in a setting you may not often get to see.
Each Second Wind has provided an opportunity for diocesan leaders to meet with a bishop. I have always felt that this was an important element of Second Wind. As some leaders really do not understand why bishops may think or react in the ways that they do, we have found that meeting with the bishop can provide an opportunity to create some good understanding for each other. There are so many issues involved in ministry today that it sometimes seems impossible to keep up with it all. We know that your time is important to you as you come to the Second Wind, and the team wants to focus on the direction you want to take as a leader in the Catholic Church today. Let us step back for a few days, because you deserve this time and place in your life.
If you would like to consider a few more years in ministry come and be refreshed and get some new energy to continue on the path that God is calling you to. Do not wait to sign up until its too late, contact Kathy Carver today at the NFCYM office. We pray for your participation in the next Second Wind. You deserve this time away as many past attendees have discovered. It really can make a difference in your life. So invest the time—you will be glad you did.
